Veterans and Their Families are Welcome at the Institute
To assist veterans with their educational goals, we participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which guarantees full tuition benefits for up to 75 eligible veterans each academic year.
Students can continue to study online while overseas. Depending on the intensity of their military duties, they may opt to take a leave of absence of up to two years.
More than five percent of our students include active-duty U.S. military service members, veterans, and their dependents, so there’s a strong sense of community here.
Military SupportA Middlebury Institute Education for International Students
The Middlebury Institute is a vibrant and internationally diverse community from more than 50 countries. If you reside outside the U.S. and plan to join the program from abroad, you will not need a U.S. visa status to enroll in online courses.
If you are currently in the U.S. and hold a non-immigrant visa status, you will need to confirm with your visa sponsor or a U.S. immigration lawyer whether your current status allows enrollment in an online program. Please also verify with your visa sponsor whether you can pursue online courses part-time under your current visa status.
“Although grades are important, they can only get you so far if you haven’t invested time in making professional connections. The relationships you build will last well beyond your time at the Institute and will open doors for you and enable you to open doors for others.”
– Adam Youngfield, Class of 2016
