The Middlebury Institute of International Studies is accredited as a graduate school of Middlebury College by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).

You don’t need work experience to pursue your master’s degree in organizational leadership at the Middlebury Institute.

No transfer credits are allowed because 30 credits must be completed with Middlebury Institute for all degrees.

Our application deadlines usually occur two weeks before each program’s start date. Request information to discuss our upcoming milestones with our admissions team.

There is no GPA requirement, but 3.0 or higher is preferred.

Admission to the program includes the following items:

  • Online application
  • Application fee
  • Bachelor’s degree transcript(s)
  • Essay
  • Resume/CV
  • Interview
  • One letter of recommendation (two are recommended)

Nonnative English speakers will need to provide one of the following:

  • TOEFL score of 80 (with minimum sub-scores of 23 for writing and 19 each for reading, listening, and speaking)
  • IELTS score of 6.5 (with minimum sub-scores of 6.5 for writing and 6.0 each for reading, listening, and speaking)
  • Cambridge English score of 176 (with minimum sub-scores of 176 for writing and 169 each for reading, listening, and speaking) on the Cambridge English B2 First, C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency examinations

IELTS and TOEFL scores are valid for two years after the test date. Cambridge English scores do not expire.

Curriculum

You’ll complete 30 credits to earn your master’s degree in organizational leadership.

You’ll complete 10 courses to earn your master’s in organizational leadership at the Middlebury Institute. Learn more about the master’s in organizational leadership courses.

Instead of a cohort model, this online program offers asynchronous coursework you can complete when and where you prefer. Additionally, you can choose the order for completing courses if the prerequisites are met.

We offer each organizational leadership course online, allowing you to study when and where you prefer. While the program includes a practicum, there are no residency requirements.

Earning this master’s degree doesn’t involve a residency. While you’re invited to visit us in Monterey, California, you can complete this program without visiting campus.

Time and Duration

You can complete the online master’s in organizational leadership degree in as little as 20 months.

We designed the online master’s in organizational leadership program for working professionals with busy lives. If something interrupts your course of study, you can take a short break without worrying about losing the credits you have accrued. We allow students to take up to five years to complete the degree.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition is $850 per credit hour. You’ll need to complete 30 credits. You can review the latest information on our tuition and fees page.

Additional fees include a $65 application fee, a student activity fee of $85 per semester, and a student resource fee of $150 per semester. Depending on the number of credits you take each semester, you may not be required to pay the student activity fee. Note that our tuition and fees are subject to change each academic year.
